Are Obama and Romney?s Mobile Apps Violating Your Privacy?


If you've installed either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney's mobile apps, you've also given either campaign permission to take a wealth of personal information from your device.

Both apps can collect your device's IP address, type (Android or iOS), and the location of your device -- and therefore, by extension, the location of you.

Why do the candidates' apps need to know where you are? Two reasons. Both show you campaign events and offices near you.
